Christmas day 2009 at Moms

Mom, John and the kids, and Nick and I got together at Mom's house for Christmas morning. We opened gifts and then enjoyed a brunch together. It was great fun and everything tasted wonderful.

Christmas Eve with Nick's family

Nick and I have always spent Christmas Eve with his family. For the past few years the family gathering has been at Nick's mom's house rather than at his grandmother's house. We had the opportunity to spend some time with family we don't get to see evry often and we all had a wonderful time!

Christmas Time 2009

So the Christmas season is here again. Since many of you will not be joining us for the holidays I thought this would help to share our times. I made a ginger bread house for the first time this year. It was a kit but that still counts, right? I took the ginger bread house and some homemade chocolates into work for everyone. Needless to say they enjoyed them! I sent a plate of chocolates into Nick's work too and the plate came home the same day- EMPTY!

Our Christmas tree has our Hallmark ornaments on it and some others that were made or bought for us by family and friends. As you can tell I like the traditional look for our tree. I made the Christmas tree skirt when I was about 22 years old and have had it under my tree every year since. This is the first year for the train set under the tree though.
