Boomer is a moppy looking dog but he really is....

Sorry- I forgot to tell all of you that Boomer is an Old English Sheepdog that is about 5 months old. He's going to the vets tomorrow so I'll let you know more then.

New addition to our home

Nick and I have been thinking of adopting a dog that was in need of a good home. I was thinking we would get a small dog- like a Jack Russell because I wanted an inside dog (sound familar Tara?) Anyway last Saturday Mom and I took Maxwell in for grooming. There was another dog there and I commented on how cute he was. Kathy at K-9 Clippers said that the dog was up for adpotion and asked if I'd like him. Long story short I played with him, called Nick from Mom's house to see what he thought (he said do whatever you want), and called Kathy back about the dog. We decided to take him for a week trial and he quickly became a member of our family- although Junior and Smokie don't think so. Sooooooooo here's Boomer before a haircut and after!! The best part is that I took Boomer home and Nick fell in love with him!!

Boomer is 5 months old and loves to play

Now the big question is: Who's in the dog house?

Finally snowshoeing

Even though the temperatures have been very cold here (this morning it was 2 degrees when we got up) Nick and I decided to go snowshoeing. This was the first time we got out this season because it really just started snowing here. That is it started snowing Jan 1 and just recently stopped. Notice that even though it was so cold today Nick and I really didn't dress for it. That's because snowshoeing is WORK, but it is fun too!! I asked Nick to describe today's snowshoeing adventure and he said one word- "Soothing". And it's true- we love using them and just being outside with nature around us. Junior loves going with us too but he is scared of crossing the creek and requiries a lot of encouragement before he will finally go across. We had a great time today and continue to enjoy our snowshoes. Thanks again for my graduation present Tracy and Brian. We love them!
